To help people with diabetes take charge of their health, Texas Health Huguley Hospital Fort Worth South is presenting a series of six workshops for our community. The Diabetes Self-Management program is free and open to the public. The series will begin Thursday, September 7 at 1:00 p.m. at the Burleson Public Library and meet once a week, on consecutive Thursdays, through October 12. The Burleson Public Library is located at 248 SW Johnson Avenue, Burleson, TX 76028. All workshops will be held from 1:00 - 3:30 p.m. To receive the greatest benefit, participants should attend a minimum of 4 workshops.
The Stanford Diabetes Self-Management Program was developed by Stanford University and is intended for adults 18 and older with diabetes and their caregivers.
The workshop series will help participants improve communication with their health care providers, evaluate treatments, become more active, make healthy eating choices and deal with pain and fatigue.
