Dr. Dhaliwal, Neurologist, Joins Huguley
Gurpreet Dhaliwal, MD, has opened a neurology and EMG (electromyography) practice on the campus of Huguley Memorial Medical Center. Dr. Dhaliwal comes to Huguley from Modesto, California, where he practiced for 18 years.
Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in neurology, Dr. Dhaliwal diagnoses and treats inpatients and outpatients for disorders of the nervous system, including the brain, spinal cord and nerves. As a neurologist, he specializes in treating strokes, multiple sclerosis, migraines and other headache disorders, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, epilepsy, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (Lou Gehrig's disease), Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and other diseases of the brain, spinal cord and peripheral nervous system.
At University of California Davis, Dr. Dhaliwal completed a fellowship in clinical neurophysiology and received special training in EMG, which provides precise information about the exact site of the nerve or muscle injury, its severity and prognosis.
Dr. Dhaliwal completed a residency in neurology at University of California Davis, and he served as chief resident his final year. He did an internship and residency in internal medicine at San Joaquin General Hospital in Stockton, California, where he also was chief resident.
Dr. Dhaliwal is a member of the American Academy of Neurology and the American Academy of Electrodiagnostic Medicine.
