Dr. Neef Now Offers Office Procedure for Permanent Birth Control
Obstetrician/gynecologist Jason Neef, M.D., now performs the Essure® permanent birth control procedure in his office. Although the procedure has been available for more than five years, previously it was conducted as a hospital outpatient procedure.
“Offering the procedure in my office gives women more convenience and a more relaxed atmosphere, plus they spend less time and money than with a hospital outpatient procedure. Often the expense is as little as an insurance co-pay, and it takes less than two hours in my office. For women who are certain their families are complete, this is a simple, effective option,” said Dr. Neef, who is an Essure-certified physician.
The Essure procedure involves placing soft, flexible micro-inserts in the fallopian tubes to create a natural barrier against pregnancy. Compared to other permanent birth control options, Essure requires no incisions, no hormones, and no general anesthesia. Most women resume normal activities the next day.
A member of Huguley Medical Associates, Dr. Neef opened his practice in August 2008 after relocating from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. He earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston Medical School. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in finance from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth.
Dr. Neef’s office is located at 11797 S. Freeway, Suite 358, in the medical office buildings at Huguley Memorial Medical Center. The office may be reached by calling 817-568-8731. His practice accepts most insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid.
