Huguley Memorial Medical Center is now introducing its new weight loss program, H.E.A.L., which stands for “Healthy Eating, Active Lifestyles.” H.E.A.L. is a comprehensive program for individuals who wish to make healthier food choices and incorporate exercise into their lifestyle. The program is the brainchild of Megan Holloway, a registered and licensed dietitian and a recent graduate of Texas Christian University’s dietetics program.
“I wanted to create a program that gave people the tools they need to lose weight and gain good health. H.E.A.L. provides custom meal plans, sessions with a dietitian, physical training sessions, and a 3-month guest pass to the Huguley Fitness Center
, and also provides a system to help the participants become educated and accountable to themselves,” says Holloway.
Holloway says that Huguley’s commitment to H.E.A.L. participants is that when they complete the twelve-week program, they will have the tools they need to maintain their good health and keep an active lifestyle.
The H.E.A.L. program consists of 6 individual sessions with the dietitian, 10 personal training sessions, a 12-week guest pass to Huguley Fitness Center, a personalized meal plan, a H.E.A.L. manual consisting of 12 weeks of education material, weekly emails and phone calls for questions and answers, weekly office hours open for weigh-in, periodic group meetings hosted at Huguley Fitness Center, and 9 monthly nutrition classes open to participants who complete the 12-week program.
