Students in the after school program at Mound Elementary School in Burleson made over 65 pillows for sick children in the Huguley Emergency Department.
“We are honored to share the labors of Mound Elementary students with the children who visit our ER. Ill or injured children are understandably anxious and scared; these wonderful pillows will most certainly offer some additional comfort and love to our pediatric patients. We would like to sincerely thank the kids of Mound Elementary for this very worthwhile endeavor,” said Huguley ER Manager, Mary Lewis.
Mound Elementary After School Program Director Ruth Bascom and Assistant Director Mary Iversen brought the pillows to the Huguley Emergency Department. The BISD After School Program is designed to provide quality instruction, academic enrichment, mentoring, tutoring, physical activity, as well as social and character skill building.
