Texas Health Huguley Hospital Fort Worth South Once Again Achieves Elite National Recognition from The Leapfrog Group for Straight “A’s” in Patient Safety
Texas Health Huguley Hospital achieved straight ‘A’s’ for the twelfth consecutive time in The Leapfrog Group’s Fall 2018 Hospital Safety Grade. With the Hospital Safety Grades, Leapfrog assigns an A, B, C, D or F grade to hospitals across the country based on how safe they are for patients.
“Although we have earned the nation’s top distinction in patient safety for the twelfth time, we never take patient safety and quality for granted. The award belongs to every one of our team members who makes safety the first priority, day in and day out,” said Vice President of Patient Care Services Tammy Ellis, RN, FACHE. “These quality scores plus our excellent patient experience demonstrate our unfailing commitment to treating each patient like the one we love the most.”
Developed under the guidance of a National Expert Panel, the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade uses 28 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to assign the grades to more than 2,600 U.S. hospitals twice per year. The Hospital Safety Grade’s methodology is peer-reviewed and fully transparent, and the results are free to the public.
“Texas Health Huguley’s continued success in achieving an A rating is evidence that the organization places an emphasis on protecting patients from preventable medical errors, injuries and infections. We are inspired by Texas Health Huguley’s leadership on patient safety,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group.
