To help people with diabetes take charge of their health, Texas Health Huguley Hospital Fort Worth South is hosting a series of six workshops for Johnson County-area residents. The program, “Live Life to the Fullest,” is free and open to the public. It will begin August 18 at 1:00 at Burleson Senior Center, 216 SW Johnson Ave., Burleson, TX, and meet once a week, on consecutive Tuesdays, through September 22. All workshops will be held from 1:00 – 3:30 p.m. To receive the greatest benefit, participants should attend all 6 workshops.
The Diabetes Self-Management Program was developed by Stanford University. It is intended for adults 60 and older with diabetes and their caregivers.
The workshop series will help participants improve communication with their health care providers, evaluate treatments, become more active, make healthy eating choices, and deal with pain and fatigue.
This series of six workshops are made possible through Texas Health Huguley Hospital and Adventist Health System’s CREATION Health grant. CREATION Health is Texas Health Huguley’s commitment to taking small steps to living God’s plan for a healthy, balanced life.
