To help people with diabetes take charge of their health, Texas Health Huguley Hospital Fort Worth South is hosting a series of six workshops for our community. The Diabetes Self-Management program is free and open to the public. The series will begin March 21 at 1:00 p.m. at the Burleson Senior Center, 216 SW Johnson Avenue, Burleson, TX 76028 and meet once a week, on consecutive Tuesdays, through April 25. All workshops will be held from 1:00 - 3:30 p.m. To receive the greatest benefit, participants should attend a minimum of 4 workshops.
The Stanford Diabetes Self-Management Program was developed by Stanford University and is intended for adults 18 and older with diabetes and their caregivers.
The workshop series will help participants improve communication with their health care providers, evaluate treatments, become more active, make healthy eating choices, and deal with pain and fatigue.
This series of six workshops is made possible through Texas Health Huguley Hospital and the Area Agency on Aging of North Central Texas. The Area Agency on Aging of North Central Texas is part of a network of 670 Area Agencies nationwide and one of 28 in the state of Texas dedicated to addressing the needs of older people and their caregivers.
