Donations Enhance Outlook for Holidays

Texas Health Huguley employees donate 745 boxes to Operation Christmas Child

Texas Health Huguley Hospital Fort Worth South truly enhanced their outlook this season by participating in Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan’s Purse. Overall, hospital employees and volunteers donated a total of 745 boxes to be delivered to children around the world.

“The original hospital goal was to stuff 300 boxes for children,” says Kent Tucker, Vice President of Ancillary Services at Texas Health Huguley. “Because of the tremendous generosity of our employees and volunteers, Texas Health Huguley truly blessed 745 children around the world!”

The hospital-wide initiative was coordinated by department leaders, known as “CREATION Health Coaches.” The coaches coordinated activities and “packing parties” to entice team members’ involvement in the project. There are about 25 CREATION Health coaches hospital-wide.

CREATION Health is about wellness, and wellness is being mentally fit, physically robust, spiritually vital and socially comfortable.   Participating in Operation Christmas Child, along with other employee engagement activities and free educational community programs helps employees and community members to enjoy personal health by living the eight essentials of optimum health shared by the CREATION Health initiative.

About Operation Christmas Child:
Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan’s Purse, is the world’s largest Christmas outreach of its kind. Since 1993, Operation Christmas Child has delivered gift-filled shoeboxes to over 124 million children affected by war, poverty, natural disasters, and other crises in more than 150 countries and territories. It partners with local churches to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with those who receive shoebox gifts and offer a 12-lesson discipleship program, The Greatest Journey, that helps boys and girls learn what it means to follow the Lord and share their faith with others.
