Huguley Memorial Medical Center and Careity Foundation will partner for the second year for a unique 24-hour Mammography Marathon, providing free digital screening mammograms around the clock. The event will be held at the Huguley Imaging Center
from 8:00 a.m. October 14 through 8:00 a.m. October 15.
Huguley will cover the cost for the initial screening mammogram. If follow-up is required, Careity Foundation, along with their collaborative partners, will underwrite all additional treatment expenses, including biopsy, surgery, chemotherapy and radiation, for any participants diagnosed with breast cancer during the mammography marathon.
Recently, Huguley Imaging Center purchased a second mammography unit which will allow approximately 150 women to receive a free screening mammogram, nearly double last year’s mammography marathon count. Appointments, which are available to women residing in Johnson or Tarrant counties, will be scheduled every 15 minutes for 24 hours.
The 24-hour Mammography Marathon would not be possible without the generous support from the Athena Society of Burleson, Spirit of Women, Ulta, and Massage Envy. Huguley’s exclusive Spirit of Women program plans to create a fun, relaxing environment to take the drudgery out of mammograms. Participants will be indulged with goodie bags, massages, refreshments, music and more.
Mammograms will be offered by appointment only. To schedule a free mammogram, please call Huguley STAR scheduling at 817-551-2787. No phone calls will be taken prior to 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 29. Limited spaces available, only 150 appointments will be scheduled.
