Huguley Memorial Medical Center has promoted Barbara Willis, MSN, RN, to Cardiovascular Service Line Director.
In this new position, Mrs. Willis holds overall accountability for the coordination, quality and management of all system-wide cardiovascular related services including inpatient, outpatient, invasive and non-invasive services, as well as community and screening programs. She will facilitate the integration and teamwork of all cardiovascular departments at Huguley for optimal care of patients; meet all regulatory requirements and guidelines; and ensure the highest level of quality and patient safety for cardiovascular patients at Huguley.
Prior to the promotion, Mrs. Willis served as department manager and program director of the Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehabilitation Department at Huguley for 18 years. She has also managed other departments at Huguley including community wellness, education, diabetes management and the EMS Program. In addition to management, she teaches lifesaving classes like Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support and currently serves as the hospital's training center coordinator for the American Heart Association.
Her 28 years as a registered nurse include experience as an administrative supervisor, critical care area director and charge nurse. She is also a clinical instructor at Tarrant County College.
Mrs. Willis holds a MSN in nursing administration from the University of New Hampshire in Durham. She earned her BS in nursing at Central State University in Edmond, Oklahoma, now known as the University of Central Oklahoma. She is a member of the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation and the Texas Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation.
A resident of Godley, Mrs. Willis is an elected school board trustee for the Godley Independent School District.
