Huguley Memorial Medical Center welcomes Joey Rivera, a staff chaplain and Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) Candidate. Rivera will supervise five chaplain residents under the direction of Pastoral Director Theo Stewart and will continue to fulfill the requirements to become a certified CPE supervisor.

, a hands-on chaplaincy training program for ministers, seminary students and qualified laypeople.
Now a Burleson resident, Rivera comes to Huguley from Jacksonville, Florida. After completing a chaplain residency program, he served as a hospital chaplain and supervised the educational student program at Baptist Medical Center of Jacksonville. Prior to being a hospital chaplain, Rivera served for 20 years as a pastor, youth pastor and Bible instructor.
Rivera holds a master of divinity degree from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan and earned a bachelor of arts degree in theology from Southern Adventist University in Collegedale, Tennessee.
