Huguley Memorial Medical Center has promoted Lisa Ortner to director of physician recruitment and relations. Her responsibilities include assessing community health care needs, recruiting physicians to meet community needs, orienting new physicians to the hospital and facilitating relationships between new physicians and the existing medical staff. She will also serve as a liaison between the medical staff and administration at Huguley.
Ortner joined Huguley in 2006 as community development coordinator for Huguley Home Health. In 2011, she was promoted to community development manager for Huguley Memorial Medical Center, and she most recently served as the interim director of Huguley Home Health. Before joining Huguley, she also served five years as the Johnson County branch manager of the American Red Cross.
Ortner earned a master’s degree in public health from Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, California. She hold a bachelor of arts degree in biology from Southwestern Adventist University in Keene.
A Burleson resident, Ortner is secretary of the Burleson Area Chamber of Commerce. Last year, she was honored with the Burleson Area Chamber of Commerce Marzee Bartee Award and the Distinguished Alumna of the Year award from Southwestern Adventist University.
“Lisa has her finger on the pulse of Johnson County,” said Kent Tucker, vice president of ancillary services of Huguley Memorial Medical Center. “Her extensive background combining community service with health care will allow her to anticipate and meet the need for physicians as this area grows and develops.”
