Texas Health Huguley Hospital Fort Worth South has teamed up with community partners to provide a 12-week program that will assist community members in moving towards a healthier weight to meet their desired goals for a healthier lifestyle. “Step Up & Scale Down” will begin on Thursday, June 11 at Texas Health Huguley Fitness Center Amphitheater.
The 12-week program will provide bi-weekly sessions to address educational topics related to weight-management including creating a healthy plate, fitness, label reading, and menu planning.
Classes will begin with a confidential weigh-in session at 5:30 p.m., followed by the weekly topic at 6:00 p.m. The program will run through Thursday, August 13.
Megan Rhoades, RD, LD, CDE, outpatient dietitian at Texas Health Huguley, will facilitate and teach each session along with guest speakers from Texas Health Huguley Fitness Center.
Admission is free, contact Texas A&M AgriLife Extension to register at 1-817-556-6370. All attendees will have the opportunity to purchase fitness center punch-cards, as well as attend an educational grocery store tour at H-E-B Burleson.
“Step Up & Scale Down” is a joint partnership program provided by Texas Health Huguley Hospital, Texas A&M Agrilife Extension, H-E-B Burleson, and Be Healthy Burleson.
