Texas Health Huguley Surgery Center Earns Top Patient Experience Award in Adventist Health System
Texas Health Huguley Surgery Center recently received the Top Performer in Patient Experience Award for Ambulatory Surgery in Adventist Health System (AHS) for the year ending June 30, 2016. The outpatient surgery facility had the highest patient satisfaction scores among the 46 AHS hospitals across the country.
The patient experience score is assessed by Press Ganey, the nation’s leading provider of patient experience measurement and performance solutions for health care companies.
Press Ganey administers a patient experience survey containing 37 questions about the check-in process, facility environment, communication with administrative and medical staff, attention to comfort, pain control, pre- and post- surgery care information and overall experience.
In addition to the top performer award, Texas Health Huguley Surgery Center also received ten ribbons for accomplishments in specific measures.
“This reflects how our team serves patients. It’s about making a connection, about letting the patients and their families know that you care. We are here to serve, and we love doing it,” said Dawna Jennings, RN, administrative director of Texas Health Huguley Surgery Center.
“Our team has worked so hard to achieve this level, so it’s exciting to receive this recognition,” she continued.
Jennings and Annie Broyles, patient experience director of Texas Health Huguley, have been asked to present at the national Press Ganey Patient Experience Conference this month regarding the initiatives and processes in place to reach this level of excellence.
The Texas Health Huguley Surgery Center opened in 2006 and performs a wide variety of outpatient surgical and procedural services: ENT, general, ophthalmic, orthopedic, podiatry, gynecologic surgery, and gastroenterology.
